Here we go again....

First day of school, I can't believe it is here already and I have a 2nd and 4th grader, where did all the time go? The only relief this morning is that I wasn't walking around pregnant! Last year I remember walking around, huge trying to get through the crowd of parents. At least this year I had the stroller to help push my way through (yep I do that sometimes). Here are the school kids!



So I love this next picture because Jacob was throwing a fit and wanted to come outside while we were taking pictures, check him out in the corner!

What a beautiful day

Yesterday we decided to attempt the our first hike with the two newest members of the family. We had such a great time and it was such a beautiful day in the mountains. I was relieved to discover that Jacob does have a sense of what his real limitations are, he was a little nervous while climbing some of the mountain and when we were close to the water. All in all it was a great Sunday afternoon and I think we are going to attempt another hike Sat. morning!

4th of July

The day started pretty early, even for us, we headed up to Grandpa's to see him in the parade and he rewarded the kids with extra candy! I wasn't quick enough to snap a picture of Grandpa but here are the kids catching candy at the parade with their cousins.

After a BBQ at grandpa's we spent a nice day at home, waiting until it was dark enough to do fireworks. We had a great set up on the driveway, we played basketball, rode bikes and roasted some marshmallows.

This was Jacob's first year experiencing the fireworks, last year he was asleep, he was a little confused and kept calling his marshmallow his firework!

We had a great day and it was so nice to spend time with family.
